Resumo: This document reports the author's experience, a teacher in the beginning of her initial training, during her school placement , inserted in the second year of the Master's Degree in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education, of the Faculty of Sport , Oporto University ( FADEUP). The school placement represents one of the most important moments in a teacher's life, because it's the year that he has the first contact with school reality. The practicum group of the cooperati ng school was constituted by three preservice teachers attended by a cooperating teacher from the school and guided by a Faculty of Sports teacher The teachers, who guide her, and the students, were essential elements for the proper functioning of the school placement. The main objective of this document is to portray the events that marked the path of the student as a teacher, the difficulties encountered and the way in which they were overcome. The initial part of the report has a personal and institutional description, moving on to some topics such as the organization and planning of the learning process, passing through characteristics of the re sident class, annual planning and the entire process for preparing it and the evaluation process. The action research study sought to analyze the transformation in the perspectives of the 7 th year students about what it means to be fit / be in shape. This study took place during the 2 nd semester, in a health education program, in a context of supervised teaching practice. The results showed a transformation in students' understanding, at physical level, but also in knowledge and personal perception. On the other hand, the family and friends' involvement, made the students not feel alone, and demonstrates the important role of school in society. Keywords:
