Resumo: Nowadays, portuguese cities are characterized by a multiplicity of urban centers of public housing. Increasingly, this type of nucleus has attracted the attention of architects, urban planners and the social human sciences due to the constraints that occur there. The present dissertation to obtain the title of Master in Architecture studies what types of spatial solutions can solve the unresolved public spaces in public housing. Based on a practical case, the Marinha de Silvalde neighborhood, in Espinho, seeks to associate the urban core to a participatory process informed by the residents. To this end, it is proposed an analysis of current cases in other structures, at an international level, considering new tools by several authors such as: ABC da rua, Iconoclasistas, MUF architects and Critical Concrete, which stand out for their nonnormative approaches to urban space design. It is also considered the analysis of local cases with a participatory approach such as: the Bouça neighborhood by architect Álvaro Siza, the Leal neighborhood by architect Sérgio Fernandez and the project for the ilha do Monte da Lapa, by architect Álvaro Siza, that stand out for their unresolved condition. As an exercise, it is proposed to develop the creation of a Participated Program through an approach to the non-canonical urban planning, but rather feminist, tactical and situated. Residents are placed at the center of decisions, recognizing their needs and desires (and differences) and the result that this can have in urban design. It is also developed this double position of those who want to listen to residents as an integral part and of those who want to carry out an architectural exercise as an architecture student. A model of social housing is not proposed, but rather a recomposition of the public space. A set of punctual actions is elaborated, with great impact, but realistic due to the context awareness.
