O Reencontrar do Caminho: um Eterno Apaixonado pelo Desporto

Resumo: This document was made within the scope of the curricular unit of the teaching practice integrated in the syllabus of the Master's degree in teaching of physical Education in primary and secondary education, of the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. The core of this study is about the unique experiences lived during the teaching practice of one preservice teacher during his school placement training. This school placement was held in an school located in Penafiel City. On his journey of learning and professional growth the trainee teacher had the support of two other people, one was the cooperative teacher that represents the school in Penafiel and the other one was a dedicated supervisor of the university. The class we studied is from the scientific-humanistic secondary course. This study aims to lead us to the experience of a whole school year, diving into the trainee teacher's first experiences, anxieties and fears, identifying the main difficulties, especially those related to class management. In addition, we made a carefully planned intervention, based on the comparison of the students' performance in two different moments of observation. This teaching practice turned out to be an enriching experience for the trainee teacher, XII promoting his mentally and emotionally development by learning with his own mistakes and reflecting about his actions on a daily basis. This was, undoubtedly, the motto to learn how to deal with people from different cultures, opinions and values, enhancing our adaptation skills and our understanding of different contexts. We would like to emphasise that this teaching practice played an important role in the development of the preservice teacher, not only professionally, but also personally.
