Resumo: In this work we report two classes carried out in a course of the Licentiate in Biological Sciences course of a Brazilian public university in which episodes of the science fiction series “Black Mirror” and “Under the Dome” were used for the discussion of relations between Science, Technology and Society. From the episode “San Junipero” we discussed concepts of life and the relationship between the advent of new technologies, as well as ethical issues that involve the transfer of human consciousness to virtual environments. In the case of the “Force Majeure” episode, concepts of Ecology, aspects of the Nature of Science and relations between Religion and Science were discussed. In both classes, didactic strategies focused on basic education were developed. Therefore, we consider that science fiction series can be used in STS Education as a didactic resource for the promotion of ethical and moral discussions that extrapolate the teaching of isolated contents.
