O nosso projeto tem como principal objetivo refletir e averiguar sobre o contributo da biblioteca escolar na formação para a leitura e literacia. Versa sobre a formação ao longo da vida, transversal e integral dos alunos, como fator intrínseco à mudança de paradigmas educacionais. Os alunos, na escola ou fora dela, têm que se situar num conjunto de mensagens, condutas e expetativas, que lhes permitam compreender o contexto integral em que se inserem, assim como os desafios da vida, em constante mutação. Cabe à biblioteca escolar ativar recursos e conseguir parcerias ideais, a fim de ações formativas e atividades atualizadas, adequadas e diversificadas, de motivação para a leitura e desenvolvimento de diferentes literacias. Neste sentido, refletimos sobre eixos que consideramos fundamentais, da ação pedagógica, pela opinião de autores de renome e aplicação de práticas conducentes ao referido contributo da biblioteca escolar. O comum interesse dos alunos pelo uso das novas tecnologias de informação e comunicação, com ênfase na internet, dispersa-os da atenção a outros saberes também necessários à dita formação integral, ao longo da vida. Nesta base e a fim do enquadramento necessário a uma análise aprofundada do tema, formulámos hipóteses baseadas nas práticas da nossa escola, biblioteca escolar, opiniões de alunos e de professores, que deram forma à nossa investigação, assim como à análise e discussão dos resultados obtidos. Concluímos, pelos aspetos mais marcantes na vida dos utilizadores da biblioteca da nossa escola, assim como a influência da mesma, na prosperidade do nosso projeto. This research has as main goal to reflect on and find out about the contribution of school libraries in the development of reading skills and literacy. It deals with the life-long learning process, cross-thematic and complete, as an intrinsic (inherent) factor in the change of the educational paradigm. Students, in school or outside, must situate themselves in a set of messages, expectations and behaviours, which shall enable them to understand the full context in which they operate, as well as the challenges of a continuously changing life. The role of the school library is to enable resources and ideal partnerships to achieve appropriate and diverse formative actions and updated activities, motivating for reading and for the development of different literacies. In this sense, we reflect upon axes which we consider fundamental within the pedagogical action, through the opinion of renowned authors and the implementation of practices leading to the mentioned input of the school library. The current interest of students in using new information and communication technologies, with emphasis on the Internet, scatters their attention to other knowledges which are also required for the completion of their lifelong learning process. On this basis, and aiming the necessary framework for a thorough analysis of the subject, we formulated hypotheses based on the practices of our school, school library, opinions of students and teachers, which have shaped our research, as well as on the analysis and discussion of the achieved results. We conclude by referring to the most striking aspects in the lives of the users of our school library, as well as to its influence on the prosperity of our project.
