Resumo: | In the book "The Imaginary Museum", André Malraux argued that the observation of the real and the metaphysical reflection that we can develop on it, is closely linked to the creative act and that, often, this dichotomy balances between modes of fruition that can be so much divergent as convergent. Between past and future, the dissertation with the title '(Re)think the Bairro do Bom Sucesso: speculation proposals through the project' proposes to look at one of the most emblematic neighborhoods of the city of Porto, considering both the experiences of its inhabitants and the ideas developed by different architects, proposing an idea of revitalization capable of uniting an almost static reality with a transforming capacity of architectural design, taking into account the scale of the neighbourhood, the building and the fire, through three distinct but simultaneous actions: Cohabiting, Disperse and Release. The aim is to develop architectural ideas and principles, intervening at the level of models of organization of domestic space, considering both common spaces and private spaces, from the neighborhood to the fire. It was decided to develop several different approaches to the existing set, rethinking the design of the relationships between the different housing blocks, the potential of the typology of buildings with a distributive system in a gallery, and the organization and size of the dwellings, without decharacterizing the set. Considering all existing housing as a scarce resource in the face of the frequent housing shortages that plague cities, it is essential to rethink each and every domestic space through project actions that are explored and evaluated in completed works, but also through the development of exploratory ideas that may eventually inform the first ones more conditioned by economic, political and social reality. |
