Resumo: | This professional internship report was written to obtain a Master's Degree in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education, and its purpose is to show experiments made, lessons learned, challenges overcome, results achieved and a study carried out within the scope of physical fitness. The professional intern program, spent at Escola Básica e Secundária Rodrigues de Freitas, was initially composed of three trainee students, a cooperating teacher from the school and a professor from the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto. The first part of the report has a personal and institutional description, moving later to a set of themes that I felt were more relevant in the process of "building" a Physical Education teacher. Though this report covers more common themes such as class control, the evaluation process, class management or the power of reflection, it also addresses topics such as the use of audiovisual media, the enhancement of physical activity time, the reduction of the number of students in classes or the differences between 2nd cycle and high school. In the second part, I present a study whose purpose is the improvement of physical fitness, using the methodology of Neuromuscular Integration Training. In the mentioned study, the differences between the control class and the class where the methodology was applied are compared, as well as the results before and after its application. This tool seeks to promote greater autonomy and responsibility among students, as well as to turn the process into a more inclusive one, since everyone is facing the same type of work. The analysis of the results shows the improvement is bigger in this case than with the conventional work used in the control class. Finally, I make a retrospective of the entire year of internship, as well as of all the topics covered. |
