Resumo: There has always been the need to communicate and there have always been narrated stories recounting reality. Frequently these stories use illustration as a means of communication and understanding. For Pablos (1999), infographics was born from a communicative union of a drawing and a text, but only if stated as a discipline with the emergence of the press. In this article, the aim is to make known the significance of infographics and its meaning, and to emphasize the importance of using it in disseminating health and science in content, offering a simple and objective communication of information to the user.

Para Pablos (1999), a infografia nasceu da união comunicativa de um desenho ou de uma pintura, enfatizado por um texto alusivo, mas só se afirmou enquanto disciplina com o surgimento da imprensa.
