Teacher Education: Practice Research and Mentoring in the Professional Master's Degree in Education

Resumo: The professionalization of basic education teacher educators constitutes one of the emerging challenges of the Brazilian educational system towards improving the quality of basic education. The aim of this text is to share the contributions of a professional master’s degree program in education for the training and professional performance of basic education teacher educators, based on the analysis of two core elements of the educational process experienced: the research of the pedagogical practice carried out throughout the course and the academic mentoring process developed with the master’s students for designing the research project. Supported by foreign and Brazilian authors, the research concepts of practice research and mentoring will be discussed, and results of studies and testimonials from educators derived from the course evaluation in 2020 will be presented. The results indicate the strengthening of this professional master’s degree and the social impact as a result of the Practice Research from the monitoring of tutors and professors of the course.

Este texto busca compartir los aportes de un máster profesional en educación para la formación y desempeño profesional de los formadores de docentes de enseñanza básica, a partir del análisis de dos componentes centrales del proceso formativo vivido: la investigación de la práctica pedagógica realizada durante el transcurso del curso y el proceso de tutoría académica desarrollado con los estudiantes del máster para el diseño de este proyecto de investigación. Con el apoyo de autores extranjeros y brasileños, se discutirán los conceptos de investigación de la práctica académica y la tutoría, y se presentarán resultados de estudios y testimonios de formadores extraídos de la evaluación del curso en 2020. Los resultados indican el fortalecimiento de esta maestria profisional y el impacto social que resulta de la investigación de la práctica desde el seguimiento de los tutores y profesores del curso.A profissionalização dos formadores de professores da escola básica se constitui num dos desafios emergentes do sistema educacional brasileiro na direção da melhoria da qualidade dessa escola. O presente texto busca compartilhar as contribuições de um mestrado profissional em educação para a formação e atuação profissional de formadores de professores da escola básica, a partir da análise de dois componentes centrais do processo formativo vivenciado: a pesquisa da prática pedagógica realizada durante o percurso no curso e o processo de tutoria desenvolvido junto aos mestrandos para o delineamento do projeto dessa pesquisa. Com o apoio de autores estrangeiros e brasileiros serão discutidos os conceitos de pesquisa da prática e tutoria e apresentados resultados de estudos e depoimentos dos formadores extraídos da avaliação do curso no ano de 2020.
