Resumo: | The STSE approach has been discussed in science subjects in order to develop students’ critical awareness of the science and technology impact on society and environment. Following this perspective, the present research was conducted during the monitoring of a teaching proposal, which aimed to discuss scientific concepts about medicinal plants with primary students, by working on a medicinal garden and studying the Ciência Hoje das Crianças (CHC) magazine related to the subject. The goal of this study was to describe specific aspects of the educational proposal and, above all, to examine the CHC magazine articles that were used in this proposal by employing the STSE approach. Methodologically, the study focused on documentary and discourse analysis. From the studied samples, it was concluded that the CHC magazine, being a resource beyond the educational scope, does present itself as a valuable support material for studies using the STSEapproach. |

Con esa perspectiva, este estudio fue realizado durante el acompañamiento de una propuesta pedagógica, cuyo objetivo fue debatir conceptos científicos alrededor de las plantas medicinales junto a los alumnos de la enseñanza fundamental a partir del trabajo con una huerta medicinal y del estudio de artículos de la revista “Ciencia hoy de los chicos” (CHC), en relación con el tema. El objetivo de la presente investigación fue describir algunos aspectos de la propuesta pedagógica y sobre todo, analizar a la luz del enfoque CTSA, los artículos de la revista CHC que fueran utilizados en la referida propuesta. Tuvo como procedimiento metodológico la investigación documental y el análisis del discurso. Partiendo de las muestras estudiadas se concluye que la revista CHC, como soporte didáctico, se presenta como un material de apoyo al estudio con enfoque CTSA.A abordagem CTSA tem sido discutida nas disciplinas de ciências no intuito de formar nos alunos uma consciência crítica da ciência e da tecnologia na sociedade e no ambiente. Nessa perspectiva, este estudo foi realizado durante o acompanhamento de uma proposta pedagógica, cujo objetivo foi discutir conceitos científicos acerca das plantas medicinais com alunos do ensino fundamental a partir do trabalho com uma horta medicinal e do estudo de artigos da revista Ciência Hoje das Crianças (CHC) relacionados ao assunto. O objetivo da presente investigação foi descrever alguns aspectos da proposta pedagógica e, sobretudo, analisar, à luz da abordagem CTSA, os artigos da revista CHC que foram utilizados na referida proposta. Teve como procedimento metodológico a pesquisa documental e a análise do discurso.
