This consumption has led also to an increase in electricity consumption and waste generated by these products. Green IT is one of the solutions for this ever-growing consumption. Most of the studies developed around Green IT have taken a corporate approach, targeting mostly its IT, employees. Despite the importance of corporate carbon footprint reduction, a consumer-centric approach should also be taken. The objective of this study is to explore the potential factors that would lead to the adoption of Green IT, specifically the intention to purchase and use. For this purpose, we deployed a questionnaire in which a sample of 183 respondents was collected from the ages of 18 to 68 years old. To analyze this data we used the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling through the SmartPLS software. From the estimated model show no statistical evidence that Price expectancy and social influence aren’t determining factors when it comes to predicting consumer behavior, but Green IT knowledge and belief, habit Environmental concern, and performance expectancy are greatly associated with the intention to adopt Green IT. The result differs sometimes greatly from what has been observed in a corporate environment, Green IT belief is a greater factor when it comes to intentions to adopt it and social influence seems to have little to no impact on consumer decisions. The model estimated shows that there is interest and intention to adopt Green IT and it helps understand the consumer intentions towards Green IT products, painting a landscape for more sustainable IT products going forward.Naranjo-Zolotov, Mijail JuanovichRUNBrito, Gustavo José Ramires Escudeiro Fernandes de2023-02-02T14:12:48Z2023-01-232023-01-23T00:00:00Zinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisapplication/pdfhttp://hdl.handle.net/10362/148540TID:203211677enginfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos)instname:Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãoinstacron:RCAAP2024-03-11T05:30:09Zoai:run.unl.pt:10362/148540Portal AgregadorONGhttps://www.rcaap.pt/oai/openaireopendoar:71602024-03-20T03:53:24.490851Repositório Científico de Acesso Aberto de Portugal (Repositórios Cientìficos) - Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC) - FCT - Sociedade da Informaçãofalse
