Resumo: | The objectives of the present study were to ascertain the correlations between the motivational climate of the young athletes and the motivational climate induced by the parents, the correlations between the cognitive orientations of the athletes, and lastly, the correlations between motivational climate induced by the parents and motivational climate perceived. It has also been proposed to gauge if any of the paternal elements has more influence in the cognitive orientation of the child through the induced motivational climate. Participated in this study 26 male futsal athletes from two different competitive levels, junior and junior U20s, aged between 13 and 19 years (mean age 16.34 years). The instruments used were the Portuguese versions of the Task and Ego Orientation in Sport Questionnaire, the Perceived Motivational Climate in Sport Questionnaire and the Parent-Initiated Motivational Climate Questionnaire-2. The results revealed that the athletes were more task oriented and the perceived motivational climate was also it for the task. Additionally, the parent-induced climate was oriented for Pleasure in Learning. Task-orientation was positively correlated with pleasure in learning motivational climate induced by mother. Motivational climate for task, motivational climate for performance and the motivational climate emphasis on errors were positively correlated with the pleasure in learning motivational climate induced by mother and father, effortless success motivational climate induced by mother, and climate leading to errors induced by mother and father, respectively. |
