Perceções de mães imigrantes da Europa de Leste acerca da inclusão educativa e social e aprendizagem dos seus filhos no 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico

Os movimentos populacionais trouxeram para Portugal muitos imigrantes, levando a uma grande diversidade cultural nas escolas. Neste sentido, tornou-se importante a preparação da escola para receber estes alunos e lhes proporcionar uma boa aprendizagem. Assim, o presente estudo tem como objetivo conhecer a perceção dos imigrantes dos países da Europa de Leste sobre a escola portuguesa. Participaram no estudo 10 mães imigrantes da Europa de Leste, cujos filhos frequentam o 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico. Os dados foram recolhidos com recurso a entrevista semiestruturada. Os resultados apontam para o domínio da língua, como sendo um dos fatores que dificulta a comunicação entre a escola e a família e também, nalguns casos entre a escola e estes alunos imigrantes. Sendo deste modo o domínio da língua um fator desfavorável à plena inclusão destes alunos na nova escola; Perceptions of Immigrant Mothers from Eastern Europe About the Educational and Social Inclusion and Learning of their Children in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education Abstract: Population movements brought many immigrants to Portugal, leading to a great cultural diversity in schools. Recently, with the arrival of families from Eastern Europe to Portugal, it has become important to prepare the school to receive these students and provide them with a good learning experience. Thus, the present study aims to know the perception of immigrants from Eastern European countries about the Portuguese school. 10 immigrant mothers from Eastern Europe, whose children attend the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, participated in the study. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews. The results point to mastering the language as one of the factors that hinders communication between the school and the family, or even between the school and these immigrant students, thus being unfavorable to the full inclusion of these students in the new school.
