Resumo: | The study of hospitals is presently a widely researched area, since it proved to be an extremely rich source of information, not only on the history of science, in general, and of medicine, in particular, but also, and above all, in regard to the analysis of society, especially of the social classes for whose study documents of other type are scarcely found. Firstly, in this article, we present a record of hospitals and subsequently make a few comments on their internal functioning and look into the groups assisted. For that purpose, we will resort to documents which have been seldom used and hardly valued in studies on hospitals, at least up to a few years ago: the so‐called relationes of the visits ad limina. |

For that purpose, we will resort to documents which have been seldom used and hardly valued in studies on hospitals, at least up to a few years ago: the so‐called relationes of the visits ad limina.El estudio sobre los hospitales es en la actualidad un área muy explorada por la investigación, ya que se ha revelado una fuente riquísima, no solo para la historia de la ciencia en general y de la medicina en particular, sino también y sobre todo para el examen de la sociedad, especialmente de las clases sociales para cuyo estudio contamos con menos documentación de otro tipo. En este trabajo realizamos en primer lugar una presentación de una relación de hospitales y, a continuación, unos comentarios de funcionamiento interno e de estudio de los grupos asistidos. Para ello utilizaremos un material documental normalmente poco usado y escasamente valorado en los estudios sobre hospitales, por lo menos hasta hace pocos años: las llamadas relationes de las visitas ad limina.Actuellement, l’étude sur les hôpitaux appartient à un domaine de recherche très exploré, dans la mesure où elle est devenue une source richissime pour l’histoire des sciences en général et plus précisément pour la médecine, mais aussi, et surtout, pour l’analyse de la société, spécialement des classes sociales, l’étude du sujet en question n’ayant pas disposé de beaucoup d’autre documentation. Dans ce travail, nous présentons, d’abord, une liste d’hôpitaux et, par la suite, nous procédons à certains commentaires sur le fonctionnement interne et sur l’étude des groupes suivis. Nous utiliserons un matériel documentaire peu utilisé habituellement et très peu valorisé par les études sur les hôpitaux, au moins jusqu’à quelques années en arrière: ce que l’on appelle les relationes des visites ad limina.O estudo sobre os hospitais é, atualmente, uma área muito explorada na investigação já que se tem revelado uma fonte riquíssima não só para a história da ciência em geral e da medicina em particular, mas também, e acima de tudo, para a análise da sociedade, especialmente das classes sociais para cujo estudo contamos com menos documentação de outro tipo.
