Resumo: The present dissertation intends to promote a reflection about housing for senior citizens,having as study object the development of a senior residence for the Town of Arrifana, countyof Santa Maria da Feira.Through the analysis of four structures presented by Philippe Dehan - linear, centripetal,closed and "Maisonnées" - and the understanding of the increasingly demanding needs ofthis population, we aim to create a system that is capable of answering these same requirements.This way, the dissertation is based not in the evaluation of what will constitute the best structure,but in the contribution of each structure, allowing the creation of a theoretical basis ableto sustain the design practice.
