Resumo: In this paper I shortly consider the relationship between ethnography and education and the ethnographer and the teacher. Most of the paper, however, is dedicated to a description and analysis of what has been done in Portugal in what concerns ethnographic research on educational issues. I also point to some works on the ethnographic method made in Portugal.
