Resumo: | The present thesis develops, through an architectonic view, the study of the common housing in the historic center of the city of Aveiro. The city and the region had a unique development, unparalleled with the historical and economical (growth and stagnation) cycles, seen that the main determining factor would be the operability of Barra - the Sea and the Lagoon were always the main source of support for the city's population. Thus, the study includes the period since its establishment, in the middle of the 20th century, and the areas that due to the change of natural circumstances were emerging in the surroundings of the original settlement. The considered buildings were limited to the time frame since the 18th century until mid 20th century. The following work is imposed seen that as long as it is known, there was never developed a similar study, and to which the need for its recording urges, due to the accelerated transformation of the city center in the last years. It is to be believed that in a short period of time the case studies necessary for this work will be rarefied or extinguished. In first place there was produced a local historic review for the time lapse defined by this work, the differentiation of the city zones, as well as the construction techniques used, focusing particularly on earth construction adobe. Secondly the housing typologies and construction techniques are presented, based on elements gathered in archive and through in-loco surveys, aiming to create an empiric relation between the different city areas and the period of spacial evolution within the city center. Finally it is considered that the typology, as well as the construction system of the common house of Aveiro's historic center, does not change greatly throughout it's zones and withing the studied time period. |
