Traditional Dances at the University: Cultural Dialogues with Tradition and Innovation

Resumo: The phenomenon of incorporating teaching-learning traditional dances into formal education, despite proposing its practice away from the original cultural environment, should be seen as a phenomenon of knowledge transmission, enrichment and intercultural and ethno-artistic dialogue specific to traditional heritage and choreography of the cultures involved. The teaching of traditional dances exists in the undergraduate formation curricula because the university assumes itself as a plural space of formation, integrating cultural diversity, national and international. This teaching of traditional dances constitutes an area of research, using a practice in context, with a collaborative learning, from the traditional repertoire and community. Through new, contemporary and dynamic ethnocoreographic narratives, it includes and integrates community cultural practices.
