Resumo: Mobile medical apps in diabetes management represent a rising trend with immense potential to enhance health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs in Germany, benefiting all involved stakeholders. A qualitative methodology, composed of expert interviews, was applied which revealed that the field is gaining increased traction. The investigation whether a digital transformation in the German diabetes management market is established led to the conclusion that it is still at the beginning with a number of challenges to be overcome and measures undertaken by stakeholders. The pharmaceutical industry is a key player which could have a large impact in the market.
