Social studies of technology: an analysis of the theme on the publication production in Brazil and in the USA

Resumo: The present study aims to identify research themes that concern the issue of technology in internationaljournals focusing on social studies of science and technology and in STS publications in Brazilian journals of education. For this purpose, articles that address the technology theme were collected. In the Brazilian case, the survey showed that only 13 of the collected articles were related to the subject under consideration, which invalidated the creation of a keywords network. For the international journals research, the Social Studies of Science magazine was mapped. 77 articles on technology were collected which generated a network of 373 keywords and led to the identification of the most relevant ones. The countries, institutions and fields of all publications’ authors were also submitted to analysis.

The countries, institutions and fields of all publications’ authors were also submitted to analysis.El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo identificar temas de investigación sobre el tema de la tecnología en periódicos internacionales centrados en los estudios sociales de la ciencia y la tecnología y en publicaciones sobre CTS en periódicos brasilleños de enseñanza. Para eso, han sido recolectados artículos que planteaban el tema de la tecnología. En el caso brasileño, la investigación ha demonstrado que solamente 13 de los artículos recopilados eran sobre el tema, el que ha invalidado la elaboración de la red de palabras clave. Para la investigación en periódicos internacionales, se ha optado por mapear la revista Social Studies of Science. Han sido recolectados 77 artículos sobre tecnología que han generado una red con 373 palabras clave yhan sido identificadas las palabras clave con mayor relevancia. También han sido analizados los países, instituciones y areas de los autores de las publicaciones.O presente trabalho possui como objetivo identificar temas de pesquisa que orbitam o tema tecnologia em periódicos internacionais com foco nos estudos sociais da ciência e tecnologia e em publicações sobre CTS em periódicos brasileiros de Ensino. Para isso, foram coletados artigos que abordassem o tema tecnologia. No caso brasileiro, o levantamento demonstrou que apenas 13 dos artigos coletados eram sobre o tema, o que invalidou a elaboração da rede de palavras-chave. Para a investigação em periódicos internacionais, optou-se em mapear a Revista Social Studies of Science. Foram coletados 77 artigos sobre tecnologia que geraram uma rede com 373 palavraschave e foram identificadas as palavras-chave com maior relevância.
