Resumo: The assumptions of the study are based mainly on the use of the theme of squares associated with the Infrastructure and Transport chain mobility as an element which serves as a "pretext" to "bake" the fragmented mesh Valley Campanhã below and insert these infrastructure in the city, allowing realize its importance as a component in the improvement and continuity of public space, and enhancing the structure of a compact urban fabric. This study highlights, among socially relevant issues and present in urban projects, the form of urban intervention, and the urban public space here considered as a factor capable of social structure, leverage and catalyze social relations and appropriations, economic and cultural spaces in the city. Mainly emphasizes the role of the square associated with the equipment of public transport - Interfaces Railway - in public space, and this with the design of urban space and its variables: the urban form, structure, function, morphology and the system of public spaces historically constructed. Thus, by identifying the elements that compose the design of parks and their features, you can understand and assimilate the key aspects of its current spatial configuration. In this context, railway stations constitute infrastructures with specific characteristics, assign a distinct identity to the squares associated with them, which should be considered for future regeneration projects of the public space of these infrastructures. The reflection is conducted for a sector of the city of Porto, Vale Campanhã, exemplified by the identification of these concepts in urban design, stemming from the project 5t thereof, and arising out of neglect and degradation of public space rail and urban development, and consequent fragmentation on the Porto.
