Resumo: One of the main objectives of the government of Mozambique in the area of education is to createconditions to expand opportunities for access to quality education at different levels of educationin order to train individuals with an intervention capacity for the country’s development and tofight the absolute poverty and to prepare the students for working market. Professional TechnicalEducation seems to be one of the ways to materialize this desire. To ensure that more citizens canhave access to education, the Mozambican government considers the Distance Learning modalityas viable ones. The purpose of this study, which is qualitative and exploratory, is to evaluate theexisting conditions for the implementation of EAD in Vocational Technical Education and toidentify the challenges inherent in the quality of courses. The results show some of the challengesto be considered before offering professional technical courses through the EAD mode are theconstitution of the management team of Professional Technical Education at a distance; The analysisof needs; The train of the actors; The dentification of the physical infrastructure and equiping it withadequate resources; The identification of the courses to be offered; The adaptation of the curriculaof face-to-face teaching into the specification of EaD; The production of study materials and theestablishment of a student support system.

Et, pour faire en sorte que les citoyens puissent avoir accès à l’éducation, le gouvernement du Mozambique considère l’enseignement à distance (EaD) une des modalités viable de l’éducation. Une façon de concrétiser ce désir est à travers l’enseignement technique professionnel. Cette étude a comme objectif, évaluer non seulement les conditions de la mise en oeuvre de l’enseignement à distance dans l’éducation technique professionnel, mais aussi d’identifier les défis inhérents à la qualité des leurs cours. Dans ce contexte l’étude montre que créer les équipes de gestion de l’ETP à distance ; analyser les besoins des étudiants ; former les acteurs principaux ; identifier l’infrastructure physique et lui conférer des ressources pour faciliter l’l’apprentissage à distance dans l’enseignement technique; identifier les cours à offrir ; adapter les programme de l’ETP à la spécificité de l’enseignement à distance; produire des documents d’étude et d’orientation et mettre en place un système de soutien aux étudiants, sont quelques-uns des défis à considérer avant de commencer à offrir des cours techniques professionnels à distance.Criar condições para expandir oportunidades de acesso à educação de qualidade em diferentes níveis de ensino, formar indivíduos com capacidade interventiva para o desenvolvimento socioeconómico, cultural e político do país e para o combate à pobreza absoluta, assim como preparar os alunos para a vida laboral constitui um dos principais desideratos do governo de Moçambique na área da educação. O Ensino Técnico Profissional afigura-se como uma das formas para materializar este desejo. E para garantir que maior número de cidadãos possa ter acesso a educação, o governo de Moçambique considera a Educação a Distância (EaD) como uma modalidade de ensino viável. Tendo em vista a implementação de cursos à distância no ensino técnico profissional, o presente estudo, que é de carácter qualitativo e exploratório, tem como objectivo avaliar as condições existentes para a implementação da EaD no Ensino Técnico Profissional e identificar os desafios inerentes a qualidade dos cursos.
