Resumo: The following case-study describes the circumstances surrounding Acquisition of Celgene Corporation by Bristol-Myers Squibb. This paper’s structure is divided between the narrative and a teaching note. The case narrative describes the pharmaceutical industry in recent decades, with particular emphasis on Bristol-Myers Squibb and Celgene Corporation. The teaching note seeks to analyse the rationale behind the takeover, namely the economic prospects of the deal and its immediate consequences.
