Resumo: This article aims to present the results of a global citizenship education project focusing on one of its dimensions, fair trade, using strategies to raise awareness of linguistic diversity. The project lasted six sessions and was carried out with children from a 4th grade class attending a primary school in the region of Aveiro (Portugal). This qualitative nature project is an action research study and the data collected was submitted to content analysis. The analysis of the data reveals that, despite the short duration of the project, the activities promoted contributed to the development of the students’ knowledge in the various areas of the curriculum, as well as knowledge about global issues such as fair trade, child labour and linguistic diversity. The results of the study indicate that the project gave the children with moments of reflection, questioning and the development of empathic feelings in relation to Others, their languages and the world, awakening the children to a new vision of themselves, the Other and the world (global and interdependent), of which they are all part.

Le projet s’est déroulé pendant six séances avec des enfants d’une classe de 4ème année de scolarité dans une école primaire de la région d’Aveiro (Portugal). L’analyse des données montre que, malgré la courte durée du projet, les activités du projet ont contribué au développement des connaissances des élèves dans les différents domaines du curriculum, ainsi que des connaissances sur les questions mondiales, notamment le commerce équitable, le travail des enfants et la diversité linguistique. Les résultats montrent que le projet a offert aux enfants des moments de réflexion, de questionnement et de développement de sentiments empathiques par rapport aux autres, à leurs langues et au monde, éveillant les enfants à une nouvelle vision d’eux-mêmes, de l’Autre et du monde (global et interdépendant), dont chacun d’eux fait partie.O presente artigo procura dar a conhecer os resultados de um projeto de educação para a cidadania global, com enfoque em diferentes dimensões, nomeadamente o comércio justo e a diversidade linguística e cultural. O projeto teve a duração de seis sessões e foi realizado com crianças de uma turma de 4.º ano de escolaridade, num centro escolar do distrito de Aveiro (Portugal). Este estudo, de cariz qualitativo, apresenta características de investigação-ação e os dados recolhidos foram submetidos a uma análise de conteúdo. A análise dos dados evidencia que, apesar da curta duração do projeto, as atividades promovidas contribuíram para o desenvolvimento dos conhecimentos dos alunos, nas diversas áreas do currículo, assim como para o conhecimento acerca de questões globais, das quais fazem parte o comércio justo, o trabalho infantil e a diversidade linguística.
