Towards a philosophy of moving image design: a look at the aesthetics of montage in Black Mirror's editing gestures

Resumo: Towards a philosophy of the current tele-audiovisual, how does Black Mirror series affect us? Montage, between opacity and transparency, is related to its three ordinary operational agencies: 1. the logics of classical cinema – the continuity (raccords) and the cross cutting (parallel editing) inserts –, 2. the dialectical approaches of Soviet avant-garde film movement and 3. the “subversive” jump cut and split screen. However, the efficacy of Black Mirror is given to other gesturing of montage. Hence, this essay is a critical analysis of the image-montage aesthetics found therein: the creative-reflexive procedures of motion graphics form through a deep remixability of media.
