Desenvolvendo Competências como Professor de Educação Física: Caminho para Aprender a Ser

Resumo: The current internship report was written having as goal obtaining the Masters Degree in Physical Education Teaching for middle and high school levels. The main objectives of this report are to highlight and describe some of the lived experiences, overcome obstacles, obtained knowledge, undergone reflections, but also, to present research done in the scope of "classroom inclusion of special needs students". The professional internship had as a partner institution, Rodrigues de Freitas Highschool, where the practice of supervised teaching took place, under the guidance of a teacher belonging to the high school´s staff and a University of Porto Faculty of Sports teacher. In the initial part of this report a formal introduction of the student was done, followed by some questions perceived to have the highest impact in the daily teaching practice during the course of the internship. Next, some themes such as student evaluation, using different media sources and its feedback, as well as referencing some of the relevant characteristics of the teacher role, from an intern teacher point of view, were discussed. In sequence, a study is presented, having as main goal to evaluate the attitude of non special education needs students towards the inclusion of special education needs students in the Physical Education classes. In this research we evaluated the influence of variables such as "gender", "previous contact with a disabled person" and "competitiveness" in the attitudes of students without special education needs. Analyzed obtained results lead us to conclude that there is an overall positive attitude of non special education needs students towards special education needs students in the Physical Education classroom context. Lastely, a final review of the internship was done, as well as an overview of future goals and ambitions.
