Resumo: | As the dwelling is the first immersive and personal experience of an individual with Architecture, as a consequence, the configuration and the conditions of this space build part of who we are. It is precisely from the domestic space and its place (geographical position) that we know the world - and the world reaches us itself- framed through windows and openings. Being such space of unique influence and meaning in our individual perception about life, emerges the interest to explore even more how to design the residential building. Equally, it is intended to study how different designs of shapes, distributions, lightings, colors, materials and textures of a given space do have a direct impact in physical and psychological human conditions. The housing crisis in Portugal (which culminated in 2019 with the approval of the new "Lei de Bases da Habitação"), as well as with the pandemic and lockdown scenario in 2020, resulted into a clearer evidence of a holistic approach. Being limited to their own home arouse people to rethink their own space, evidenced in surveys, interviews and studies conducted during this phase, which needs to be considered in the architectural design. This dissertation seeks to evidence the possibility of an interdisciplinary study between Architecture, Interior Design, Psychology and Neuroscience, to produce the necessary tools to a complete perception of environment and an enrichment of projects process. The focus in these areas of study suggests potentializing the humanization of the project's exercise as it explores aspects that go beyond the programmatic order. |
