The city of Porto as a LGBTQI+ tourist destination

Resumo: The city of Oporto has presented itself as one of the most relevant destinations in Portugal, due to its tourism potential and diversity. Thus, this research presents an analysis of the agents of the tourist offer in the city of Oporto and the marketing strategies used to enhance the receptivity of the destination, as well as to account for the level of satisfaction of the tourists visiting these locations, according to the oer available, namely lodging, saunas, parties and events, bars and nightclubs and also LGBTQI+ circuits. The objective, however, is to present contributions about the measurement of the city of Oporto as an LGBTQI+ destination, through two types of analysis, one qualitative and the other quantitative. The qualitative analysis, which took place through an interview, focused on the commercial agents, where the existence of marketing is perceived and how actions are practiced.Concerning the quantitative analysis, addressed both at the local community and LGBTQI+ visitors, show the perceptions of what the city of Oporto has to oer and the opinions/recommendations about how to turn Oporto an LGBTQI+ destination. Finally, the results are based on the conclusion that the city of Oporto is not yet a LGBTQI+ destiny consolidated despite its diversity in the order.

Sendo assim, esta pesquisa apresenta uma análise dos agentes da oferta turística na cidade do Porto e das estratégias de marketing utilizadas para potenciar a recetividade do destino, além de dar a conhecer o nível de satisfação dos indivíduos que visitam estes espaços, em função da oferta disponibilizada, desde alojamento, saunas, festas e eventos, bares e clubes noturnos e também circuitos LGBTQI+. O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar contributos acerca da mensuração da cidade do Porto enquanto destino LGBTQI+, através de dois tipos de análise, uma qualitativa e a outra quantitativa. A análise qualitativa, que se efetuou através de entrevistas, incidiu sobre os agentes comerciais, que foram questionados sobre a existência de marketing dirigido a este segmento onde se percebe a existência do marketing e como são praticadas as ações. Quanto à análise quantitativa, dirigida tanto à comunidade local como à visitante LGBTQI+, foram analisadas as perceções da oferta turística da cidade do Porto e as opiniões/recomendações acerca do impulsionamento do destino Porto enquanto destino LGBTQI+.
