THE CHILD AND ADOLESCENT SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND THE ASSISTANCE IN THE STATE OF RIO GRANDE DO SUL

This article dealt with sexual violence against children and adolescents and the development of protocols and flows of care for victims in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. To this end, the legal framework for the protection of children and adolescents against sexual violence was established, both constitutional and statutory, and the distinction between sexual abuse and sexual exploitation was demonstrated. Afterwards, a study was developed on the victim assistance policy, highlighting the importance of intersectoriality, health care and social assistance. Finally, we dealt with the assistance flows in the State of Rio Grande do Sul through the context of children and adolescents victims of sexual violence, the protocols and flows adopted by the State Government and the perception and contributions of professionals who work in the assistance network for its improvement. The approach method was deductive and the procedure method monographic with bibliographic and documental research techniques. The main results consisted in the verification that there was an increase in the notifications of sexual violence according to information from the Notification Aggravated Cases Information System - SINAN, so that it was concluded that the State of Rio Grande do Sul did not promote, until the year 2019, any advance in the fight against child and juvenile sexual violence. Furthermore, it was concluded that there is no unified care protocol for the State, leaving the network professionals to act according to their tradition and culture.
