Resumo: In this paper we present the report of an experience with 8th grade students at a municipal public school in the city of São Paulo / SP, whose focus was to develop creativity and protagonism through problem solving, supported by the teaching of Malba Tahan. In the development of the activities we reflect on the role of the methodology used by the author as well as his contribution to Mathematics Education, considering the learning process learning in a more integrative and meaningful way.

In the development of the activities we reflect on the role of the methodology used by the author as well as his contribution to Mathematics Education, considering the learning process learning in a more integrative and meaningful way.En este trabajo se presenta el relato de una experiencia vivenciada con alumnos del 8º año, en una escuela pública municipal de la ciudad de São Paulo / SP, cuyo enfoque fue desarrollar la creatividad y el protagonismo a través de la resolución de problemas, apoyados en la didáctica de Malba Tahan. En el desarrollo de las actividades reflexionamos sobre el papel de la metodología utilizada por el autor así como su contribución a la Educación Matemática, considerando el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de manera más integradora y significativa.Apresentamos neste trabalho o relato de uma experiência vivenciada com alunos do 8º ano, numa escola pública municipal da cidade de São Paulo/SP, cujo enfoque foi desenvolver a criatividade e o protagonismo através da resolução de problemas, apoiados na didática de Malba Tahan.
