Resumo: | The purpose of this report is to analyze the implementation of a workshop in a 6th grade elementary school class about the content of flat geometrical figures, through the experience of the excursion entitled "Mathematics is everywhere" in the city of Olinda in the state of Pernambuco. This trip was the result of one of the activities proposed by the discipline Mathematics Education Trends in the Postgraduate Course in Mathematics Teaching, level lato sensu, of a college belonging to the Zona da Mata Norte in the state of Pernambuco. The pedagogical purpose of the excursion was to explore the presence of mathematics in the various everyday situations, whether in objects created by men or originated by nature. In order to base the present work, the ideas of Paviani and Fontana (2009) were adopted, emphasizing that the pedagogical workshop serves two purposes. The first concerns the articulation of concepts, assumptions and notions with concrete actions, experienced by the participant or learner. The second emphasizes the experience and execution of tasks in a team, that is, appropriation or collective construction of knowledge. Methodologically, 20 students from the 6th grade of elementary school participated in the application of the workshop, and the contents of the flat geometric figures were worked. It is concluded, therefore, that the students were enthusiastic about the possibility of learning or reminiscing the geometric / mathematical concepts through a contribution present in their daily life. Therefore, this proposal means that it is relevant for mathematics teachers to adapt their teaching methodologies to provide more rewarding classes in this area of knowledge. |
