Resumo: This paper presents the primary concepts of length and areas. The purpose of this is to contribute to the process of teaching and learning geometry in basic school. Thus, some demonstrations were elaborated so that the students of the basic education can understand the geometry beyond the school activities in the mathematics discipline, and then, the better explore their concepts and relationships with the world around them.
