Pedagogical intervention according to the perspective of statistical literacy: an observation made by means of researches

Resumo: In the present moment, the statistic is one of the main sciences used to describe phenomena of reality and every citizen must be prepared to it. This work involves the application a statistical literacy verification tool in a high school class of José de Almeida Maciel School, in Pesqueira-PE. The activity happened in three stages: in the first, we collected data by a pre-test to measure what students already knew about statistic, in the second, a pedagogical intervention, and lastly a posterior-test, to compare the results and to check how the students reacted to the activity. After, was made a field research, with the intervention focused on work with applied statistic in different contexts close to students. The results showed a significant improvement in comparison of the pre-test with the posterior-test, demonstrating, therefore, efficiency of work with literacy activities in the teaching of statistic and probility.

Este trabajo se ocupa de la aplicación de un instrumento de verificación de alfabetización estadística en una clase de secundaria en la Escuela José de Almeida Maciel, en Pesqueira-PE. El objetivo de este trabajo fue investigar cómo los estudiantes desarrollarían sus habilidades de interpretación al participar en actividades de alfabetización. La actividad se llevó a cabo en tres etapas: en la primera, recolectamos datos a través de una prueba previa para medir lo que los estudiantes ya sabían sobre estadísticas, en la segunda una intervención pedagógica y, finalmente, una prueba posterior, para comparar los resultados y verificar cómo los estudiantes reaccionaron a la actividad. Se realizó una investigación de campo, con la intervención enfocada en trabajar con estadísticas aplicadas en varios contextos cercanos a los estudiantes. Los resultados mostraron una mejora significativa en comparación del exámen previo con la prueba posterior, lo que demuestra la efectividad del trabajo con actividades de alfabetización en la enseñanza del procesamiento de la información.  Na atualidade, a estatística é uma das principais ciências utilizadas para descrever fenômenos da realidade e todo cidadão deve estar preparado para tal. Este trabalho versa sobre a aplicação de um instrumento de verificação de letramento estatístico em uma turma de ensino médio da Escola de Referência em Ensino Médio José de Almeida Maciel, em Pesqueira-PE. Objetivou-se com esta pesquisa investigar de que maneira os estudantes desenvolveriam suas habilidades de interpretação ao envolverem-se com atividades de letramento. A atividade ocorreu em três etapas: na primeira, coletamos dados por meio de um pré-teste para mensurar o que os estudantes já conheciam acerca de estatística; na segunda, uma intervenção pedagógica; e, por último, um pós-teste para comparar os resultados e verificar como os estudantes reagiram à atividade. Realizou-se uma pesquisa de campo, com a intervenção voltada ao trabalho com a estatística aplicada em diversos contextos próximos dos estudantes.
