Teaching and learning of biomolecules in high school: DNA extraction and stimulus to experimentation

Resumo: | The study of nutrition and energy metabolism in high school depends on a series of concepts of organic chemistry, which will only be worked on in the last year by the Chemistry professor. The great difficulty for Biology teachers is to introduce these chemical concepts in parallel to this content. We believe that only the lectures are not enough to arouse the interest of students. Based on this premise, we believe that the development of new educational materials is very relevant to improve learning. “Survival” is an investigative / cooperative board game on nutrition and energy metabolism. Used as a playful strategy, it was developed as teaching material to assist teachers in reviewing concepts on the topic. |

Used as a playful strategy, it was developed as teaching material to assist teachers in reviewing concepts on the topic.Este artículo reporta el desarrollo de clases experimentales de extracción de ADN en el Laboratorio de Ciencias de una Escuela Pública Estatal, la creación y aplicación de un Quiz elaborado en la plataforma kahoot en línea sobre ADN con el fin de contribuir al aprendizaje de biomoléculas en la docencia. de la biología. Se aplicaron cuestionarios, antes (QCP) y después (QVA) de las clases para evaluar conocimientos previos y adquiridos, así como el kahoot que contiene 10 preguntas sobre ADN. Los datos obtenidos con el QCP mostraron que la mayoría de los estudiantes definieron correctamente el ADN, ya que aún indicaban su ubicación y que tenían tiras dobles. Los datos de QVA mostraron que una buena parte de los estudiantes saben que el ADN contiene información genética.Este artigo relata o desenvolvimento de aulas experimentais de extração de DNA no Laboratório de Ciências de uma Escola Pública Estadual, a criação e aplicação de um Quiz elaborado na plataforma on line do kahoot sobre DNA com o objetivo de contribuir para a aprendizagem de biomoléculas no ensino de biologia. Foram aplicados questionários, antes (QCP) e após (QVA) as aulas para avaliar conhecimentos prévios e adquiridos, como ainda o kahoot contendo 10 questões sobre DNA. Os dados obtidos com os QCP mostraram que a maioria dos alunos definiram corretamente o DNA, como ainda indicaram sua localização e que apresentam dupla fita.
