25 years of SBEnBIO: foundation, political moments and protagonism

Resumo: The text begins by recalling the context in which the Brazilian Biology Teaching Association (SBEnBio) was founded and its role in discussions around educational policies in the country. It draws parallels between then and now, with emphasis on business interests and their relationship with the National Common Curriculum Base (BNCC) and the so-called “New Secondary Education”. In this path, the text highlights the fundamental role played by SBEnBio in unveiling “false innovations” in national educational proposals, and in resisting movements to attack education, schools, Biology teaching and teachers, as well as in outlining scenarios that seek to address the challenges posed by that context.

Traza paralelos entre esa época y el momento actual, destacando los intereses empresariales y su relación con el Base Nacional Común Curricular y la llamada “Nueva Escuela Secundaria”. Em este camino, se destaca el papel fundamental del SBEnBio en el develamiento de “falso innovaciones” en las propuestas educativas nacionales, en la resistencia a los movimientos que atentan contra la educación, la escuela, la enseñanza de la Biología y el docente y en el contorno de escenarios que buscan enfrentar los impasses presentes en este contextoO texto começa por resgatar o contexto da fundação da Associação Brasileira de Ensino de Biologia (SBEnBio) e seu papel nas discussões em torno das políticas educacionais no país. Tece paralelos entre aquela época e o momento atual, com destaque para os interesses empresariais e sua relação com a BNCC e o chamado “Novo Ensino Médio”.
