Teaching sequence on family agriculture: limits and potentialities for education in science, technology and society

Resumo: The objective of this paper was characterized by the investigation of the limits and potentialities of the application of a didactic sequence in the perspective of elements of STS education, whose guiding theme is family farming in Biology teaching. The didactic sequence was applied on a class of high school, in the Santa Catarina. The research is characterized as descriptive and utilized, for data collection, a questionary, reports made by the group in meetings, field journals and individual memorials. As a result of found, the limits were: time/after school hours, financial resources, dialogue between curricular components, and as for the potentialities: critical and investigative posture of the students, rupture with the fragmentation of subjects, life experiences in field outings, teacher/student approximation and contributions to scientific and technological literacy.

La secuencia didáctica fue aplicada en un curso de primer año del ciclo medio, en Santa Catarina. La investigación se caracteriza como descriptiva y utilizó, para la colecta de datos, un cuestionario, relatos producidos por el grupo de estudiantes en los encuentros, cuaderno de campo y memorial individual. Como resultado, se señalan, como límites: tiempo/turnos contrarios, recursos financieros, dialogo entre componentes curriculares; y como potencialidades: postura crítica e investigativa del estudiante, ruptura con la fragmentación de los contenidos, vivencias en las salidas de campo, aproximación profesor/estudiantes y contribuciones para la alfabetización científica.O objetivo deste trabalho caracteriza-se por investigar limites e potencialidades da aplicação de uma sequência didática na perspectiva de elementos da educação em Ciência-Tecnologia-Sociedade, que tem como tema norteador a agricultura familiar no ensino de Biologia. A sequência didática foi aplicada em uma turma de primeiro ano do ensino médio, em Santa Catarina. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como descritiva e utilizou, para coleta de dados, questionário, relatos produzidos pelo grupo de estudantes nos encontros, caderno de campo e memorial individual.
