E-mail: ggbotelho@ufrrj.br This work was realized to delineate the hematological, serum biochemical, and coproparasitological profiles of equines rose at Seropédica, RJ, Brazil. The Clinical Pathology contributed with the analyses, and the results were presented to the farmers. They were instructed about the most adequate handling conditions for their animals, in order to prevent diseases, especially the parasitic ones. Inside the social aspect of this work, the farmers and the farm workers were orientated towards the importance of infectious and parasitic diseases control. Two hundred forty seven equines were examined, and 44 blood samples, as well as 44 faecal samples were collected. Hemogram was realized using the total blood collected with EDTA anticoagulant. From the other 44 blood samples collected without the anticoagulant, the serum was separated for the biochemical analyses. The eggs per gram (EPG) count and faeces culture were made using the faecal samples. The hemogram revealed the following results of mean values and standard deviation (mean values ± standard deviation: X ± SD): erytrocytes 6.8 ± 1.5 x 106/µL; packed cell volume 34.5 ± 4.8 %; leucocytes 10.144 ± 4.448/µL; lynphocytes 4.689 ± 2.925/µL; monocytes 378 ± 368/µL; eosinophyls 378 ± 325/µL; basophyls 53 ± 79/µL; mature neutrophyls 4.022 ± 2.617/µL; band neutrophyls 379 +/- 382/µL. In the serum biochemical analyses, the following results were found (X ±DP): glycosis 82.6 ± 27.5 mg/dL; alkaline phosphatase 97.8 ± 38.9 U/L; calcium 13.6 ± 0.85 mg/dL; creatinine 4.1 ± 2.3 mg/dL; urea 40.3 ± 14.5 mg/dL. In the EPG count, the results fluctuated between zero and 2,200. It was observed that 43.18 % of the animals had parasitical infection, and that all of them were infected by cyathostomines helminthes. The results indicate that there is a parasitic diseases control, which has been done by a regular anti-helminthes drugs administration. The analyzed hematological and serum biochemical parameters had no important alterations, what was probably due to the animals good clinical conditions.

The results indicate that there is a parasitic diseases control, which has been done by a regular anti-helminthes drugs administration. The analyzed hematological and serum biochemical parameters had no important alterations, what was probably due to the animals good clinical conditions.
