PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN HIGH SCHOOL: THEORETICAL PRODUCTION AND THE “COURT FLOOR”

Resumo: The present work aims to analyze the memory that high school students have about the discipline Physical Education experienced at this level of schooling. Therefore, the research followed two paths, namely: a) to present theoretical references on Physical Education in High School, taken from some books or book chapters produced in this 21st century; b) associate the exposed theoretical elements with data from an (online) survey carried out with Physical Education academics about classes in the area in High School, with the target audience and the sample being 102 students from institutions (public and private) that offer the degree (Higher Education) in the city of Corumbá (Mato Grosso do Sul) and region. The methodological approaches used were Content Analysis, adapting the technique of elaboration and analysis of units of meaning (MOREIRA; SIMÕES; PORTO, 2005) and Memory as a research method (DORES, 1997). The general results indicate that there is a long way to go for the Physical Education discipline in High School, in the study region, to overcome old problems (uninteresting classes; lack of planning...), especially aiming to make it effective and fruitful, with concepts and significant actions to promote citizenship and a healthier lifestyle.

Por lo tanto, la investigación siguió dos caminos, a saber: a) presentar referentes teóricos sobre la Educación Física en la Escuela Secundaria, tomados de algunos libros o capítulos de libros producidos en este siglo XXI; b) asociar los elementos teóricos expuestos con datos de una encuesta (en línea) realizada a académicos de Educación Física sobre clases del área en la Escuela Secundaria, teniendo como público objetivo y la muestra a 102 estudiantes de instituciones (públicas y privadas) que ofrecen la carrera (Educación Superior) en la ciudad de Corumbá (Mato Grosso do Sul) y región. Los enfoques metodológicos utilizados fueron el Análisis de Contenido, adaptando la técnica de elaboración y análisis de unidades de significado (MOREIRA; SIMÕES; PORTO, 2005) y la Memoria como método de investigación (DORES, 1997). Los resultados generales indican que hay un largo camino por recorrer para la disciplina de Educación Física en la Escuela Secundaria, en la región de estudio, para superar viejos problemas (clases poco interesantes, falta de planificación...), apuntando especialmente a hacerla efectiva y fructífera, con conceptos y acciones significativas para promover la ciudadanía y un estilo de vida más saludable.  O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar qual a lembrança que os estudantes do Ensino Médio possuem sobre a disciplina Educação Física vivenciada nesse grau de escolarização. Para tanto, a pesquisa seguiu dois caminhos, a saber: a) apresentar referências teóricas sobre a Educação Física no Ensino Médio, retiradas de alguns livros ou capítulos de livros produzidos neste século XXI; b) associar os elementos teóricos expostos com os dados de uma pesquisa (online) realizada com acadêmicos de Educação Física sobre as aulas da área no Ensino Médio, sendo que o público alvo e a amostra foram 102 estudantes das instituições (pública e privadas) que oferecem a licenciatura (Ensino Superior) na cidade de Corumbá (Mato Grosso do Sul) e região. As abordagens metodológicas utilizadas foram a Análise de Conteúdo, adaptando a técnica de elaboração e análise de unidades de significado (MOREIRA; SIMÕES; PORTO, 2005) e a Memória como método de pesquisa (DORES, 1997).
