Resumo: In recent years, the municipality of Massaranduba-SC has been prominent in the cultivation of freshwater fish. In 2018, the Center for Aquaculture and Fisheries Development (Cedap) demonstrated that the activity produced about 1,781 tons of fish in the commercial modality. However, the fisherman faces typical challenges of the sector such as technical assistance, financial resources and currently the climate factor and its impacts on the environment begins to be accounted for in the production process. The present work aims to characterize the profile of the fish farmer in the municipality of Massaranduba, with an emphasis on their climatic perception about the pisciculture scenario. This research had two activities: first, questionnaires were applied to 14 (fourteen) fish farmers registered in the database of the Company of Agricultural Research and Rural Extension of Santa Catarina (Epagri). The second activity was a training titled "Current Panorama of Climate Conditions", with the presence of the interviewees and open to the interested community. The main research results were the construction of the socioeconomic profile of the fish farmers and the analysis of their perception on the climate. The profile is predominantly male, adult, with a family nucleus formed (on average) with 3 members. The school level found was of first year of High school degree and with technical training in the area. The training discussed the results of the survey with the interviewees and made the public aware of climate issues and environmental impacts in this sector. In view of this, it was possible to analyze a set of situations that strengthen the importance of this diagnosis to think about future training strategies and technological extension of those involved in the municipality's fish farming.
