RACISM AND DAILY LIFE IN THE CONTEXT OF PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL EDUCATION – EPT

Resumo: | To talk about race and racism in Brazil is to enter into a controversial topic and obviously we have no intention in this text to give a definitive answer to this so complex theme. What we intend is just to pose some questions related to the theme of racism in Brazil, so that we can understand how racism structures the daily lives of students in the context of Professional and Technological Education developed on a campus of a Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology. With this objective in mind, at first we held a discussion about the emergence of the idea of race and the forms of reproduction of racism in Brazilian society. In a second moment, we held a discussion about the impacts of racism in Brazilian education, and in the next topic we present data related to a research carried out on a campus of a Federal Institute on the relationship between racism and everyday life. |

Lo que pretendemos es simplemente plantear algunas preguntas relacionadas con el tema del racismo en Brasil, para que podamos comprender cómo el racismo estructura el cotidiano de los estudiantes en el contexto de la Educación Profesional y Tecnológica desarrollada en un campus de un Instituto Federal de Educación. Ciencia y Tecnología. Con este objetivo en mente, inicialmente sostuvimos una discusión sobre el surgimiento de la idea de raza y las formas de reproducción del racismo en la sociedad brasileña. En un segundo momento, discutimos sobre los impactos del racismo en la educación brasileña, y en el siguiente tema presentamos datos relacionados a una investigación realizada en un campus de un Instituto Federal sobre la relación entre el racismo y la vida cotidiana. Palabras clave: racismo, vida cotidiana, educación, EPT, Instituto FederalFalar sobre raça e racismo no Brasil é entrar em um tema controverso e obviamente não temos intenção neste texto de dar uma resposta definitiva a essa temática tão complexa. O que pretendemos é apenas colocar algumas questões relacionadas à temática do racismo no Brasil, para que possamos compreender de que forma o racismo estrutura o cotidiano dos alunos no contexto da Educação Profissional e Tecnológica desenvolvida em um campus de um Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia. Com esse objetivo em mente, em um primeiro momento realizamos uma discussão sobre o surgimento da idéia de raça e das formas de reprodução do racismo na sociedade brasileira.
