From the criminalization of substances to the “War on Drugs" policy: a century of prohibitionism in Brazil

Resumo: The document comprises three tables, each featuring comprehensive data and descriptions of various sets of regulations and legislation (both national and international) outlining the protocols that public authorities must adhere to regarding illicit drugs. The initial table delineates 8 international conventions published by the United States, other nations, the League of Nations, and the United Nations. The subsequent table enumerates 43 laws and regulations issued in Brazil concerning illicit drugs spanning the years 1921 to 2020. Lastly, the third table provides an overview of 4 bills promulgated in Brazil aimed at the decriminalization of drugs.
