Education research and researchers in a pandemic scenario: the case of PPGE/UFAM graduate students

Resumo: | The new coronavirus pandemic has implied transformations in all sectors of social life, in this article we focus on an analysis of its impacts in the scientific field. With the main objective of understanding the changes that the pandemic has brought about in the daily lives of students of the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Amazonas, we developed an exploratory study, quantitative and qualitative, situated in the Sociology of Education. The study was concerned with the experiences of these young researchers regarding the transformations in their lives and in their research projects, from the isolation and suspension of face-to-face activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The results revealed that the pandemic has had personal, professional and academic consequences for these researchers, among which we highlight: social isolation; distance from the university campus and its resources; increased burden of work for women; resizing of projects, with emphasis on those with a qualitative approach and which initially provided for field research. Com o objetivo central de compreender as mudanças que a pandemia tem ocasionado no cotidiano dos pós-graduandos do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade Federal do Amazonas, desenvolvemos um estudo exploratório, quanti-qualitativo, situado na Sociologia da Educação. O estudo se ocupou das experiências desses jovens pesquisadores quanto às transformações em suas vidas e em seus projetos de pesquisa, a partir do isolamento e suspensão de atividades presenciais devido à pandemia da Covid-19. Os resultados revelaram que a pandemia tem acarretado consequências de ordens pessoal, profissional e acadêmica para esses pesquisadores, dentre as quais destacamos: isolamento social; afastamento do campus universitário e de seus recursos; aumento da carga de trabalho para mulheres; redimensionamento dos projetos, com destaques para aqueles de abordagem qualitativa e que previam inicialmente pesquisa de campo.
