Resumo: | The objective of this study is to compare the theoretical elements of Piaget’s constructivist (1983) and Papert’s (2008) constructionist concepts. Once the converging elements of these concepts have been established, it is hoped to induce a debate regarding the related theoretical congruencies and their utilization in improving teaching robotics in elementary schools. This document follows on from the bibliographical and reflexive studies of authors on this subject, which is focused on the point of view of the necessity to overcome the purely technicistical outlook with regards to the insertion of robotics into educational practices. One important convergent point between the theories is the question of appreciation of the expression of different methods used to present concrete contructions, which denote the mental structures developed so as to render a particular purpose. Keywords: Educational Robotics; Teaching; Constructivism; Constructionism. |

Keywords: Educational Robotics; Teaching; Constructivism; Constructionism.
