Resumo: Effects of fertilizer placement and soil tillage systems in nutrient uptake and com yield were evaluated in the second year (1989) of a field experiment in a Rhodic Paleudult soil. The soil tillage systems, in the main plots, were conventional, strip, and no tillage; and fertilizer placements, in the plots, were broadcast, strip and row, with three repetitions. Fertilizers were applied as triple superphosphate (80 kg de P 202/ha = 35 kg P/ha) and potassium chloride (40 kg de K 20/ha=33 kg de IU ha). Phosphorus content in the plant tissuc at different com growth stages was affected by fertilizer placement and/or soil tillage systems; however, potassium uptake was not affected. Com growth and grain yield and nutrient contem were not influenced by treatments of fertilizer placement or soil tillage

Com growth and grain yield and nutrient contem were not influenced by treatments of fertilizer placement or soil tillage No segundo ano (1989) de um ensaio a campo, num solo podzólico vermelho-escuro, em Eldorado do Sul (RS), foram avaliados os efeitos dc preparos do solo e modos de adubação na absorção de nutrientes e no rendimento de milho. Os tratamentos, com três repetições, consistiram de parcelas com os métodos de preparo convencional, em faixas e sem preparo, e subparcelas com os modos de adubação a lanço, na faixa e na linha. A adubação consistiu na aplicação de superfosfato triplo (80 kg de P)02/ha=35 kg de P/ha) e cloreto de potássio (40 kg de K 20/ha=33 kg de K/ha). O N foi aplicado em cobertura, em três doses de 50 kg de N/ha, na forma de uréia. As linhas de semeadura foram estabelecidas no, mesmo local daquelas do primeiro ano de cultivo. O teor e/ou a quantidade de fósforo no tecido de milho, nos diferentes estágios de crescimento, foram influenciados pelos modos de adubação e/ou métodos de preparo do solo, os quais, no entanto, não afetaram a absorção de potássio. O crescimento do milho, o rendimento e o conteúdo de fósforo nos grãos não foram afetados pelos modos de adubação e métodos de preparo do solo. Departamento de Diagnóstico e Pesquisa Agropecuária.
