Resumo: | Objective: To identify in the literature how clinical and laboratory diagnosis and treatment of vulvovaginal candidiasis are performed in patients treated at Primary Health Care services. Method: This is an integrative literature review where articles were selected using the following controlled descriptors “ Vulvovaginal Candisiasis "," Diagnosis "," Therapeutics "and" Primary Health Care ", for consultation in the SCOPUS databases - multidisciplinary basis; Web of Science; National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health (PubMed) and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS). Results: 54 publications were found, and after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 6 articles remained that became part of the analysis corpus of this integrative review. According to the literature, the diagnosis of vulvovaginal candidiasis in Primary Health Care is based on the observation of signs and symptoms suggestive of the disease together with laboratory confirmation, which allows confirmation of the pathology and identification of the pathogen involved, depending on the method used. Drug treatment is used, associated with non-pharmacological measures. Conclusion: The diagnosis of Vulvovaginal Candidiasis in Primary Health Care is based on the observation of the clinical characteristics of this infection and for confirmation, samples of vaginal discharge should be collected and sent to specialized laboratories. Regarding treatment, it must consider the differences between uncomplicated CVV and recurrent CVV, where drug treatment can be combined with non-pharmacological measures. |

In Derme; Vol. 94 No. 32 (2020): Out.
