NURSES' AUTONOMY IN WOUND TREATMENT: INTEGRATIVE LITERATURE REVIEW

OBJECTIVE: To survey the scientific productions on the autonomy of nurses in relation to the treatment of wounds. METHODOLOGY: This is an integrative review carried out in September 2022, in the virtual health library, using the descriptors: Nursing Care; Wounds and Injuries; Professional Autonomy and Wound Healing. We searched for articles published between 2010 and 2022 that addressed the subject of the study. RESULTS: 05 articles were selected from the databases: LILACS and BEDENF. They were organized into two categories for analysis: Performance and Autonomy of the Nurse in relation to the process of treatment and recovery of wounds and Autonomy based on the legislation of professional practice for the treatment of wounds. Although there are resolutions that address the autonomy of nursing professionals related to the treatment of wounds, many nurses are unaware of the laws of their own council. CONCLUSION: More publications are suggested in this area, which is in constant development and growth, as the Nurse has a prominent role in the elaboration of protocols and in the evaluation, selection and indication of new technologies for the prevention and treatment of people with wounds.   KeyWords: Nursing Care; Wounds and Injuries; Professional Autonomy; Wound healing.
