Resumo: | Objective: To identify in the scientific literature the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the food and nutritional security of households with children under five years old. Methodology: This is an Integrative Literature Review carried out in the Pubmed, Web of Science, Scopus and The American Journal Clinical Nutrition databases, using the descriptors COVID-19; Food Security/Food Security; Child and the Boolean AND operator. The search included studies in English, Portuguese and Spanish, with year of publication between 2019 and 2022, with data collection being carried out in February and March 2022. Results: At the end of the analysis, six articles were selected. Income and unemployment represented the main challenges associated with families' access to adequate food, as well as the relationship between food insecurity and child health, through the identification of changes in children's height and weight. There was also a prevalence of food insecurity in 50% of the studies comprising the final sample. Conclusions: The findings of this research can contribute to broadening the view of nursing, as well as of other professionals/social and political agents on the importance of elaborating and implementing proposals that aim to reduce vulnerabilities of specific population profiles. |
