É uma nova lei processual que causou uma mini-reforma que trouxe mudanças significativas no Código de Processo Penal Brasileiro no que diz respeito as medidas cautelares e prisões cautelares alternativas a prisão, inserindo novas medidas cautelares até então inexistentes. O intuito dessa pesquisa é mostrar as principais alterações trazidas pela nova lei, assim como identificar as principais discussões acerca do tema que foram criadas e que foram resolvidas com a entrada em vigor da lei. Será feito um estudo sobre as prisões, os princípios, as medidas cautelares e sobre o instituto da fiança que houve modificações significativas com a entrada em vigor da novatio legis. E finalmente o trabalho terá uma breve análise dos pontos positivos e negativos da Lei por se tratar de um tema muito delicado que gerará muitas discussões ao longo de sua aplicação.The following study is meant to analyze the main changes introduced by the Law nº 12.403/2011.
