THE STATE OF THE ART OF SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION IN PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE ABOUT TEACHING GAMES FOR UNDERSTANDING MODEL

Resumo: | The Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) model is a didactic-methodological systematization recognized and consolidated internationally for the treatment of sports, and also a theoretical basis for other sports teaching proposals in different countries. For its relevance in international Sports Pedagogy debate, we identified the need to analyze how the TGfU is being scientifically discussed in Brazil and other Portuguese speaking countries? To answer this question, this study aims to analyze the scenario of academic production in Portuguese language on the TGfU model in the periodicals of Qualis CAPES - Physical Education. After the search process, which considered all the journals that compose this Qualis, we found nine studies written in Portuguese about TGfU, from the keywords Teaching Games for Understanding, TGfU and Teaching for Understanding. Then, we analyze these nine articles in terms of their publication years and journals, as well as the objectives, methodologies and populations of each research. From this analysis, we verified that the first production on TGfU was published 25 years after the study that officially proposed the model. In addition, we contacted seven studies that are theoretical discussions, based on the presentation of the characteristics and potentialities of the TGfU model as a possibility for sports development, being only two of them applied, one considering soccer initiation populations and another analyzing the experiments with TGfU in the initial formation in Physical Education. Finally, we systematized a time line of the production in Portuguese on the TGfU model, identifying two distinct phases: of Theoretical Discussion and Articulation/Intervention, which projects a tendency of new studies dedicated in advancing the construction of new knowledge in the future of production in Portuguese about TGfU. |

Por sua relevância no debate da Pedagogia do Esporte internacional, identificamos a necessidade de analisar como o TGfU está sendo discutido cientificamente no Brasil e demais países de língua portuguesa? Para responder essa pergunta, esse estudo tem como objetivo analisar o cenário da produção acadêmica em língua portuguesa sobre o modelo TGfU nos periódicos integrantes do Qualis CAPES – Educação Física. Após o processo de busca, que considerou todos os periódicos que compõem esse Qualis, encontramos nove estudos redigidos em português sobre o TGfU, a partir das palavras-chave Teaching Games for Understanding, TGfU e Ensino para Compreensão. Em seguida, analisamos esses nove artigos no que se refere aos seus anos e periódicos de publicação, bem como os objetivos, as metodologias e as populações de cada investigação. A partir dessa análise, constatamos que a primeira produção sobre TGfU foi publicada 25 anos após o estudo que propôs oficialmente o modelo. Além disso, contatamos que sete estudos são de discussão teórica, pautados na apresentação das características e potencialidades que o modelo TGfU como possibilidade de desenvolvimento dos esportes, sendo apenas dois deles de caráter aplicado, um considerando populações de iniciação esportiva do futebol e outro que analisa as experiências com TGfU na formação inicial em Educação Física.
