Resumo: Information and communication technologies are increasingly present in the daily lives of the population, particularly the elderly, with great potential for improving their quality of life. In this sense, the objective of this work was the development and evaluation of a mobile device application that enables the improvement of self-management of the adequate use of drugs by the elderly. This research was motivated by the need to build an artifact for practical purposes, seeking solutions to concrete problems, which was evaluated by a group of potential users, being of an applied and mixed approach nature. The study evaluated 15 elderly individuals with an age equal to 69.45 (SD = 6.55). The collections were carried out before and after 60 days of use of the application, being applied a sociodemographic questionnaire, questionnaire on the strategies of medication management, questionnaire on the impact of the use and a questionnaire on the usability of the application. To analyze the quantitative data, Statistical Package for the Social Sciences descriptive analyzes were used, and for the qualitative data the software IRaMuTeQ was used. The results categorized the sample as predominantly female (66.66%) and with low usability (59.04). Qualitative data at the pre-use time presented seven classes and the prevalence of the words "take" and "Medication". At the post-use point, seven other classes and the prevalence of the words "No" and "Application" were observed. Concluding that it is of great relevance and necessary that the later studies are directed to the validation, effectiveness and usability of the applications so that the proposed benefits as quality of life and autonomy for that specific public are best measured.
